Every Saturday in August the Farmer’s Market will be held on N. Market Street between the Heritage Center and Elderly United buildings; all local food grown in Ohio. 9am – 1pm Call Gene Barnett for more information, 937.536.9408
Every Friday in August - Lunch on the Lawn, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Join us once again this year as The Springfield Symphony Orchestra presents a series of free, informal ensemble concerts held on the front lawn of the Springfield Museum of Art during the noon lunch hour. Music will include a mixture of classical and popular music by very diverse performing groups. An outdoor tent will be provided for shade, and in case of rain the performances will move inside the Museum. Admission to each performance is free. A special sack lunch will be available for $6.00 (with beverage) while they last.

1 Aug – 31 Dec - “112 Years and Counting: The History of the Clark County Historical Society” is outside the Crabill Discovery Hall. The exhibit looks at how the historical society has changed over time and highlights its collections, the different venues where it has been, and looks at the move to the Heritage Center.. 1 - 29 Upper Valley Mall Summer Concert Series. Come out to the Upper Valley Mall on Saturday evenings in July and August from 6pm – 8pm to hear your favorite local performers and bands! The mall will be hosting a variety of local bands and musicians performing a wide variety of music. Take a break from the hot summer weather and relax to some music. 1-2 Ohio All Breed Horse Show Assoc. at the Champion’s Center
1-8 Julia McLemore: Held 9 am to 5 pm at the Springfield Museum of Art. The New Botanicals: Reminiscent of the photogram, these “photographs” are made outside of the camera. These oversized, stunning floras depict a new generation of botanical prints. Their color, texture and sense of the interior space of plants give the viewer a new way to look at flora.

1-31 Downtown Sounds: Good food, good music, beautiful weather and fun is the combination for Downtown Sounds on the City Hall Plaza. Downtown Sounds returns for the summer beginning June 10 and continuing through August. Downtown Sounds is a free program designed to showcase downtown amenities and downtown businesses and will run from 11:30am to 1pm each Wednesday on the downtown plaza next to city hall.

5 Summer Walking Tour – South Fountain Avenue Historic District, 6 pm. Prominent Americans like Oliver S. Kelly, William N. Whitely, and Harry S. Kissell are just part of South Fountain’s storied past. Meet outside First Baptist Church at 638 South Fountain Avenue. Presented by the Rose and Smiddy Families. Rain date, August 12 at 6 pm.

15-16 Springfield Antique Show and Flea Market, Friday 4 pm – 8 pm, Saturday 8 am – 5 pm and Sunday 9 am – 4 pm, Clark County Fairgrounds, exit 59 off I-70. 21-23 Great Buckeye Challenge Triathlon/Duathlon (Half/Mini/Sprint) will be held at Buck Creek State Park. The event is sponsored by HFP Racing and will draw competitors from 10 to 15 states.
